We recommend four strategies for finding preK-12 lesson plans:

  • Use the K-12 Education Content Areas research guide. Free lesson plan websites are listed for each content (subject) area.

  • Find books/eBooks with lesson plans. Search WorldCat Discovery with your content area and the phrase “study and teaching”:

    • earth science "study and teaching"

    • theatre "study and teaching"

  • Browse the Curriculum Collection on the 3rd floor in the following ways: a) call number area 372 has dozens of lesson plan books, and b) find your subject area for teaching ideas - science (500s) for science and math, etc.

  • Of course, you can also search the Internet for lesson plans!
