Basal readers are collections of stories used to teach reading skills to children, often found in textbook format. Here is an example of a basal reader:
The call number for this basal reader is ELA HMH 1 text 1.
ELA: English Language Arts
HMH: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (publisher)
1: 1st grade
text 1: volume 1 of the “text” (student textbook)
Basal readers are in the Idaho pK-12 Adoption Textbooks collection on the 2nd floor. Note: The Curriculum Collection will be shifted from the 2nd to the 3rd floor during the Fall 2017 Semester.
When you reach the 2nd floor look for the row of books with the Curriculum Collection sign (see photo), and look for the aisle with the Idaho K-12 Textbooks sign.
